Mon's Steak Seasoning

Recipe developed in collaboration with Chef Ryan Eckles (Project Bread) and Chef Monica (Quincy)

This is a very simple yet versatile seasoning blend that can be used on everything from french fries and veggies to meat and fish. We keep the school blend without salt so we can be mindful of our sodium content when adding the seasoning - we can add more flavor without adding more sodium.

A few piles of spices used for the Mon's Steak Seasoning spice blend: garlic powder, onion powder, oregano, black pepper, and paprika.

Yield: 2.5 cups UNSALTED

Ingredients

1 cup Garlic granulated

1/2 cup Onion powder

1/2 cup Oregano, dried leaves

1/4 cup Paprika

1/4 cup Black pepper

(1.25 cup salt for a complete seasoning mix: 2:1 seasoning
to salt ratio)

Directions

  1. Combine all ingredients and store in an airtight container in a cool, dry and dark place.
