📅 Date: Tuesday, April 30, 2025
📍 Where: Across the Northeast
📣 Organized by: The Northeast Regional Anti-Hunger Network (NERAHN), comprised of anti-hunger organizations in all the New England states plus New York
⚠️ What’s Happening: Congress is considering devastating cuts to SNAP—$230 billion over 10 years, amounting to a 20% cut. These proposals would harm millions of people, including hundreds of thousands of people in our region and weaken our food systems. It’s critical that Northeastern states speak out loud and clear.
🎯Goal: This Day of Action is a joint effort from anti-hunger organizations in all seven Northeast states to:
Raise awareness about the threats to SNAP
Flood congressional offices with emails and phone calls
Lift up local stories from people and businesses impacted by SNAP
Stand in solidarity across state lines
