The Walk for Hunger Only Happens Once a Year

Heads up, Boston! It's time to gear up for our fun in-person Walk event on the Boston Common. From the joy of the first steps of the Walk to the overwhelming sense of accomplishment when you cross the finish line, you'll be part of a powerful and vibrant community that has come together to make a positive difference. 

Here is everything you can expect on Sunday, May 7th so you don't miss a thing!

Your 3 mile route

A lot can happen in 3 miles

Project Bread is thrilled to be hosting an in-person Walk event on the Boston Common for the first time since 2019! The in-person Walk is coming to life on Sunday, May 7, 2023 and will take the form of a fun-filled 3-mile walk around Boston Common. Each loop is 1 mile, how many you choose to walk is up to you -  perfect for all ages to particpate!

Stay energized with entertainment on the main stage and along the route all morning long!

Smile! You've just stepped up big time to solve hunger

You've completed your Walk, showed up for hungry kids and families, and now it's time to share Why you Walk, and see your smile pop up on our socials!

Our Video Testimonial Booth is there for us to continue spreading the message and encourage more of our neighbors to join us in our mission.

Learn about our anti-hunger community partners walking with us as part of our fundraising share program for The Walk for Hunger, and how teamwork makes our dream work to end hunger.

There are 34 anti-hunger organizations/programs that have formed Walk Teams and are participating in The Commonwealth this year, wave to them if you pass them on the course!

Go the extra mile with the Feed Kids Coalition

Visit Project Bread at the Feed Kids Table to take action to help make School Meals for All permanent in Massachusetts and learn how you can get involved with policy work to make meaningful, long-term, systemic change. 

Oh! And don't forget to deck yourself out with temporary tattoos from The Walk for Hunger.

Refuel with nature's candy

Stay energized all day long with fresh fruit and snacks from our Chef Educators Team! While you fuel up, you can learn about how your support helps schools across Massachusetts to serve quality, nutritious, kid-approved meals all year long.

The Walk for Hunger is a community event for all ages and while we are never too young to be an anti-hunger advocate, it's better with our face painted! Whether you express yourself by being an animal, a superhero or anything else you can think of – you can make a memorable and fun statement at The Walk.

The Walk for Hunger is a powerful movement of people united in their commitment to create a hunger-free Massachusetts, and Project Bread's flagship community event and fundraiser. Since 1969, on the first Sunday in May, community members from all walks of life walk together to make a statement about the hunger crisis and work towards a permanent solution.
