To assist us in meeting our mission, Project Bread – The Walk for Hunger is seeking a Policy Assocaite to join our growing team.

Supervisor: Vice President of Public Policy

Starting Salary Range: $50,000-$53,000

The Role: The Policy Associate will play an essential role in supporting Project Bread’s policy and advocacy goals by providing programmatic and administrative support on all aspects of the department’s work.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Assist with content development as needed, including drafting fact sheets, action alerts, newsletters, etc.
  • Assist with communications with external partners.
  • Prepare and handle electronic communications.
  • Attend and represent the organization at key coalition and partner meetings.
  • Schedule appointments with internal and external participants and providing logistical support during calls and meetings, including technology set-up and troubleshooting, notetaking, and meeting follow-up.
  • Maintain contact databases and electronic files.
  • Perform other related tasks as needed.

Organizational Responsibilities: 

  • Participate in planning and evaluating the annual Walk for Hunger, including working as event staff the weekend of the Walk (first weekend in May), and attending pre-Walk events as assigned. 
  • Participate in organization-wide events and meetings. 
  • Act to promote, sustain, and grow Project Bread’s positive, productive, and inclusive working environment. 

Qualifications:

  • Experience working in diverse environments with people of different backgrounds.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Attention to detail and strong organizational skills.
  • Strong written and oral communication skills.
  • Familiarity with basic HTML programming is a plus.
  • Bachelors degree or 2+ years of experience.

All employees are currently working a hybrid remote and in-office model. The Policy Associate will typically need to be present in the East Boston office twice a week.
